Meet The New WILD Leaders

Happy New Year, Sisters! 2022 is our best year yet for sure.
I trust we all had a fun, brainstorming and refreshing holiday season? Thewilddotng is back and better, and our first dose of content for the year 2022 is focused on “Introducing our new WILD leaders.” #DrumRoll

MEET TOYIN FUNSHO, OUR ASSISTANT CAPTAIN WILD

OLUTEMI:
Describe yourself in 6 one-liner sentences.

TOYIN:
ABBA’s baby, diligent, helpful, consistent, loving and kind hearted

OLUTEMI:
I love it! Especially the first one: ABBA’s baby.
What was your first thought when you were informed about joining The WILD leadership? What is your current thought now that you are a WILD leader?

TOYIN:
My first thought was, “God are you sure I can do this?” So many “what if’s” and doubts. I had serious mind battles of how I might disappoint God and myself (devil is stupid shaa).
My current thought. When God calls you, He enables you. There is grace to carry you through that season. But you have to submit to Him daily. It is His assignment, so I ask daily what am I doing today; and with the help of the Holy Spirit the journey has been seamless

OLUTEMI:
Amazing! Indeed, when God calls you, He enables you, and we all need the help of the Holy Spirit daily to do His work seamlessly.
If you could spend four solid hours with a Bible Character apart from Jesus, who would it be, and why?

TOYIN:
Aaahhh, Moses first. Like, dude sat down with God and gave God conditions: “If you don’t go with me, I won’t go” concerning the Exodus. Then he spent so much time with God that his face was radiating God’s glory so much that he had to cover his face with a veil.
Next is David. The battles. Real battles with swords and all. And he always still inquired of the Lord. He never for once believed in his own ability. He trusted God all the way. Even when he sinned, he still found his way back to God.
Let me stop at two. Lol.

OLUTEMI:
Haha, thank you for stopping at two. The two men you mentioned are really legendary Bible characters.
What keeps you UP spiritually when life’s issues try to weigh you DOWN?

TOYIN:
I listen to music a lot. All gospel. Then I enjoy my relationship with the Holy Spirit. Like I tell Him everything (I’m really not good with sharing with people; I’m just learning to trust people now). So Holy Spirit has been my comfort and confidant. I also journal; everything He says or how I feel.

OLUTEMI:
So good! Gospel music has a way of saturating our minds and atmosphere with God’s presence. And the Holy Spirit? He’s truly a worthy best friend to have.
What is the one thing you love about yourself but you rarely talk about?

TOYIN:
How I listen to people and they trust me enough to share their thoughts and how I help. I still don’t understand how I do that. But I just enjoy listening and helping out. It’s really so beautiful for me.

MEET TEMILOLUWA AKINSOLA

OLUTEMI:
Describe yourself in 6 one-liner sentences.

TEMILOLUWA:
A confident child of God.
A cup-half full kinda girl cos I know it’s still gonna overflow! a.k.a. extremely optimistic.
A gift that keeps on giving.
A chartered accountant with an assignment in the higher education sector in Nigeria.
A telecommunication business leader (Amen? Amen!)
Very ambiverted and fun-filled!

OLUTEMI:
Hallelujah! All beautiful!
What was your first thought when you were informed about joining the WILD leadership? What is your current thought now that you are a WILD leader?

TEMILOLUWA:
My first thought was on the enormity of the assignment. I’m a corner-seat-girl-in-the-crowd, so I knew this would jolt me to be more responsible in The WILD community.
My current thought is to allow God help me in this leadership. It’s like needing God’s help more than before, now. It’s always in my head.

OLUTEMI:
Absolutely, we all need God’s help to carry out His assignments.
If you could spend four solid hours with a Bible Character apart from Jesus, who would it be and why?

TEMILOLUWA:
My darling Ruth!
I don’t know what’s with me and the lady, but that’s one character I’m never tired of studying and there’s always something fresh to learn when I study the book of Ruth.
It summarises Salvation, Restoration, Guidance, Reward and a whole lot. It’s like the whole Bible in one book.

OLUTEMI:
Wow, I’d never seen the book of Ruth in that light. Thank you for sharing and piquing my interest more is sister Ruth.
What keeps you UP spiritually when life’s issues try to weigh you DOWN?

TEMILOLUWA:
Hmmmm…
My confessions, which are increasing by the day.
Great Christian music (especially Sola Allyson’s songs).
My inner circle (my SISTERS, that’s where I can explain how it’s doing me without being judged).
Seeing a lot of Christians who had gone through whatever I’m going through at that time and the joy that comes from knowing they overcame.

OLUTEMI:
Awesome and beautiful secrets to never staying down no matter what comes our way.
What is the one thing you love about yourself but you rarely talk about?

TEMILOLUWA:
That would be MY CONFIDENCE!

  3. An unapologetic worshipper.
  4. A lady with a large smile.
  5. A lady who believes in Nigeria.
  6. A lady that cherishes relationships.

OLUTEMI:
I love ’em all, particularly number 5; it’s great to see a Christian who still believes in Nigeria because it means she won’t stop praying for our dear country and backing it up with commensurate righteous acts.
What was your first thought when you were informed about joining The WILD leadership? What is your current thought now that you are a WILD leader?

SHARON:
I was eager to serve.
My thought now is Grace to serve The WILD wholeheartedly with my time and excellence.

OLUTEMI:
Amen! Grace is made available in abundance for you, Sis.
If you could spend four solid hours with a Bible Character apart from Jesus, who would it be and why?

SHARON:
David.
David’s relationship with God is what I desire for my life. He was always in God’s presence, worshipping and loving on Him that he was called a man after God’s own heart. I’ll spend four hours and more asking him how he did it. Despite his mistakes, he never ran away from God but ran to God. I love David.

OLUTEMI:
Truly, David is a goal!
What keeps you UP spiritually when life’s issues try to weigh you DOWN?

SHARON:
Worship music.

OLUTEMI:
Hmmm, godly music is winning the day.
What is the one thing you love about yourself but you rarely talk about?

SHARON:
My love for others.

MEET SOLAMIPE ARIBIKE

Describe yourself in 6 one-liner sentences.

SOLAMIPE:
I love God a lotttttttttttttttttt, I love serving, I am loyal to the core, I am ever smiling, I am a true worshipper, and I am a goal-getter.

OLUTEMI:
All amazing traits!
What was your first thought when you were informed about joining The WILD leadership? What is your current thought now that you are a WILD leader?

SOLAMIPE:
I felt God has been preparing me for this, not that I am qualified but because He chose me. My current thought now as a WILD leader is this: God who has chosen me for this will help and see me through it.

OLUTEMI:
Absolutely! He equips and helps those He chooses.
If you could spend four solid hours with a Bible Character apart from Jesus, who would it be and why?

SOLAMIPE:
I would spend it with Moses. I really love Moses and all he endured with the faithlessness of the 600,000 men he was leading through the wilderness. I really admire his patience as I am currently studying the journey of the Israelites.

OLUTEMI:
So true, Moses’ patience and meekness at the face of gross provocation from the Israelites deserve to be studied.
What keeps you UP spiritually when life’s issues try to weigh you DOWN?

SOLAMIPE:
Worship!!! Worship does it for me, just saturating my atmosphere with worship keeps me up… worshipping and exploding in tongues, then peace.

OLUTEMI:
I love it!
What is the one thing you love about yourself but you rarely talk about?

SOLAMIPE:
I love my confidence a lot. I know how much it took me by the grace of God to get here considering how very timid I used to be. In fact, it’s Godfidence and I love it a lot.

MEET MOBOLAJI IDOWU

OLUTEMI:
Describe yourself in 6 one-liner sentences.

MOBOLAJI:
I am a Lecturer.
I am a Life Clarity Coach.
I am passionate and ambitious.
I love helping people become their best versions.
I love to plan events.
And I love to watch movies.

OLUTEMI:
Impressive!
What was your first thought when you were informed about joining The WILD leadership? What is your current thought now that you are a WILD leader?

MOBOLAJI:
My first thought was that this is a great privilege to serve. For years I have been blessed by Captain’s vulnerability on her blogs and also in The WILD Community, so I am happy to jump at any opportunity to work closer with her.
My current thought is that there is a lot of background work done to make every meeting remarkable that I wasn’t aware of before but I am just so excited to be part of the whole background work now.

OLUTEMI:
That’s lovely. I love your positive attitude and willingness to serve.
If you could spend four solid hours with a Bible Character apart from Jesus, who would it be and why?

MOBOLAJI:
Abraham. I am interested to know more about his kind of faith. First, when his name was changed to Father of nations and He had no proof to show, yet he still held on to God’s word. Also, to understand the kind of trust he had in God when he went to offer Isaac as sacrifice.

OLUTEMI:
Father Abraham’s absolute faith in God is truly worth studying. Little wonder he is called the father of faith.
What keeps you UP spiritually when life’s issues try to weigh you DOWN?

MOBOLAJI:
Praying in tongues and listening to messages.

OLUTEMI:
I love it! Indeed, praying in tongues helps to refresh our spirit, soul and body.
What is the one thing you love about yourself but you rarely talk about?

MOBOLAJI:
That would be how hospitable I am. I love to have people come over to my place and I cook for them. I actually enjoy it all.

MEET TEMITOPE OLUMIDE (ME)

OLUTEMI:
Describe myself in 6 one-liner sentences.

I am the KING’S Daughter.
I am a Fashion Designer.
I am a Propelled Writer.
I love looking good and taking pictures, especially in the once in a blue moon days I go out.
I cherish the relationships in my life especially my family.
I really love to laugh and harass those that love me in a loving way.

OLUTEMI:
What was my first thought when I was informed about joining The WILD leadership? What is my current thought now that I am a WILD leader?

My first thought was, “Woooow, Lord are you really choosing me again for this? Can I handle it?”
My current thought is, “Lord, I am beginning to understand why you chose me for this, help me to fully submit to the process and give me enlarged capacity to take it all in without leaking in any way”.

OLUTEMI:
If I could spend four solid hours with a Bible Character apart from Jesus, who would it be and why?

In this season I’d choose Priscilla.
She travelled with her husband all the way from Rome to Corinth (don’t know how far that is but Corinth wasn’t the home she knew so it was far, I believe). They had to leave behind family and business ties, friendships, relationships, under duress. One political decree changed their lives forever. I’m imagining the rush they used to pack and leave, the stress, the emotional drain, all because one man woke up and decided he didn’t want Jews around. And after they settled in Corinth, she accommodated Apostle Paul in her home. I feel like she had a lot going on in her life and she truly carried well.

OLUTEMI:
What keeps you me UP spiritually when life’s issues try to weigh me DOWN?

I’d say worship; surrounding myself with worship and just soaking in the presence of God lifts any bad mood around me. The more my atmosphere is filled with God’s presence, the more peace I feel in my heart.

OLUTEMI:
What is the one thing I love about myself but I rarely talk about?

I love the fact that those I love can confide in me when things bother them or when they need someone to talk to.

MEET RITA CHIKWEM

OLUTEMI:
Describe yourself in 6 one-liner sentences.

RITA:
I’m an enthusiastic Jesus lover, Disciplined, honest, a servant-leader and result-oriented.

OLUTEMI:
What was your first thought when you were informed about joining the WILD leadership? What is your current thought now that you are a WILD leader?

RITA:
Wow, I can’t even explain how I felt, but unqualified was there; however, now after the first meeting with CoachE, light came to be, so I feel so so honoured to serve God in this capacity.

OLUTEMI:
Yes, it’s absolutely an honour to serve God in The WILD and His grace is sufficient for you.
If you could spend four solid hours with a Bible Character apart from Jesus, who would it be and why?

RITA:
David, because of his love and humility to God.

OLUTEMI:
King David is a goal indeed.
What keeps you UP spiritually when life’s issues try to weigh you DOWN?

RITA:
The assurance of the love of God.

OLUTEMI:
Spot on! That is a golden truth.
What is the one thing you love about yourself but you rarely talk about?

RITA:
My love for God and humanity.

MEET BLESSING UMEH

OLUTEMI:
Describe yourself in 6 one-liner sentences.

BLESSING:
I am a Researcher with a variegated engineering background. Last year, I became a wife and God is moulding me towards becoming the Proverbs 31 woman. I am a Children, Teens and Young Adults educator and mentor. I am a committed volunteer to varied causes that serve humanity and deliver social impact. I am a strong proponent of the pay-it-forward concept. I am God’s Masterpiece.

OLUTEMI:
Amazing! Your life is full package.
What was your first thought when you were informed about joining The WILD leadership? What is your current thought now that you are a WILD leader?

BLESSING:
My first thought was that it is a great privilege, a huge blessing, and a thorough training and learning ground God has gifted me with through Coach E.
And now, I still have the same thought but in execution mode such that I totally and completely depend on the Holy Spirit’s leading.

OLUTEMI:
Awesome! We truly cannot do this without the help of the Holy Spirit.
If you could spend four solid hours with a Bible Character apart from Jesus, who would it be and why?

BLESSING:
Apostle Paul because his life and teachings are so rich and are simply gifts that keep on giving.

OLUTEMI:
Apostle Paul truly deserve to be studied as a four-unit load course.
What keeps you UP spiritually when life’s issues try to weigh you DOWN?

BLESSING:
I remind myself that I am His (God’s) own, abiding in Him and He has got me covered so whatever cannot overwhelm Him can never overwhelm me. As such, I get to that point where I just rest in Him.

OLUTEMI:
That’s a winning mindset. I love it!
What is the one thing you love about yourself but you rarely talk about?

BLESSING:
This is a tough one but I would say it is the different aspects/stages of my life’s journey that seemingly inspired people and probably continues to do so. I’ve had instances where people would tell me and remind me of times I said something to them or did a task/assignment a certain way and it became the pivotal moment they needed to draw on and stay motivated, put on their game face and forge on towards victory.

I gleaned a lot reading from my fellow leaders, its great to read different perspective to the same question. Most of the leaders have something in common, did you notice it while reading? Share with us in the comments. And also share what stood out to you.

Remember to key into the presence of God this year, he has all the wisdom we need to juice out this year 2022.

With Love,

Olutemi for the wild editorial
